Family traditions counter alienation and confusion. They help us define who we are; they provide something steady, reliable and safe in a confusing world — Susan Lieberman

I’m sure everyone has pretty much had it with looking at holiday-related photos but, tonight, I finally took the time to photograph of our 2010 ornament — a traditional yearly gift from my in-laws and one that I look forward to opening each year.

Technical Notes: I got lazy and didn’t use a tripod and, as luck would have it, my camera battery died after only a handful of shots so I didn’t get a chance to position the ornament properly for the bokeh photo. This is SO sounding like a my-dog-ate-my-homework explanation. Not a great start to my 365 project. Anywhoooo, it’s probably time I invest in a 2nd battery.
