I surprised myself this week and actually got organized enough to take theme-related photos before Sunday! All but the Sight photos are new.
1. Leading Lines
To be honest, I had no idea what I was supposed to be photographing when I saw “leading lines” as a theme. Thank goodness for Google and for this photo challenge for providing yet another learning opportunity for me. I couldn’t move as far back as I would’ve liked but I hope I’ve captured the gist of the theme with these shots.
2. Something Comfortable
This is my throne. The place where I place my weary bottom during naptime or at the end of the day after the boys have gone to bed. It is where you will find me sitting, perusing the sites of other photographers and bloggers, and editing my beloved photographs. It is a very comfortable place, indeed.
3. Feet
My 4-year-old’s feet are a source of anguish some nights. He whimpers and writhes in his bed from what his doctor describes as “growing pains”. The episodes don’t last long, maybe 5 minutes, but they reappear & haunt him 3-5 times on the nights that he has them. All I can do is hold him. In this photo his feet look tranquil and untroubled. I wish they were this way every night.
4. Sight
For some reason, these two photos (my favourite shots of an eye or eyes to date) have escaped being part of a public blog post until now. The 1st one was taken only a couple of weeks ago; the 2nd in May. I didn’t even attempt to trump these two since they’ve never been showcased on this site before.
5. Sweet
I had intended to shoot something that oozed in sweetness. You know. The candy-coloured or chocolate variety. But there is such gentle sweetness in seeing a child carry a doll or stuffed animal in the crook of his arm that I opted for this photo, instead.
Here are the themes for next weekend’s challenge:
- Bokeh (also your POTW theme)
- Business (August 2010 Photo Hunt item)
- Eco-Friendly (August 2010 Photo Hunt item)
- Repetition (August 2010 Photo Hunt Item)
- Music
Wow, great shot for this assignment. My faves are sight and sweet. Love your chair, it looks sooo comfortable.
LOVE the last shot and your leading lines are great!
About the growing pains two of my four kids deal with them. My oldest (16) has mostly outgrown them, although he STILL has some rough nights. My 7 year old has them frequently. (The other two have had them but not as frequently as the oldest and the youngest). We have always kept children’s tylenol around to help them get rest on particularly bad nights.
Hi Sheri – Thanks for sharing your growing pains experience. The old adage “misery loves company” is true. Although I’m saddened to hear that 2 of your kids also have the same bad nights, I feel comfort in knowing that my son is not the only one.
These are all so wonderful – you did well with leading lines and I’m so glad you had the opportunity to share those pictures for sight. Well done.
Love your sweet shot, truly adorable
I also had no idea what “leading lines” was supposed to be. Glad I wasn’t alone, and thank goodness for google! Love your interpretation of sweet, that is a wonderful shot!

Great shots! I’m with you – I don’t think you could trump how awesome your sight photos are. I think the one of your son peeking through the hole is my favorite – it really shows his curiosity. I love your throne, and I think the sweet shot is really cute.
