When I saw that the Paper Mama photo challenge theme for this week was orange, I immediately thought of pumpkins and autumn leaves. I put off shooting for a few days because I was experiencing a bit of photographer’s block. Then I noticed the decorative butterflies on the pussy willow branches in a vase on the dining room cupboard. A touch of whimsy in an otherwise very adult room.
They caught the boys’ attention too and they seemed glad, excited even, to have me put the paper butterflies on their shirt. I think I may have been drooling with happiness as I snapped away with the camera. Clipping a butterfly on my 4-year-old’s hair, however, did not go over well. It got twisted around and began to tug at his hair. Poor guy.
The above image is my favourite of the series but I couldn’t help share these as a well.
